On the morning of October 28, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to China Shakhrat Nuryshev said at an embassy press in China that relations between the two countries are “exemplary” and at “unprecedented levels.” This comes as the two countries celebrate 30 years of diplomatic ties and are aiming for closer relations. (CRI online) The Ambassador also pointed out that China will remain Kazakhstan's partner and friend in the future, and that the bilateral trade volume between the two countries has increased by more than 70 times in the last three decades, making China Kazakhstan’s biggest trading partner. Furthermore, he emphasized that Kazakhstan considers the BRI quite relevant for the future, and the 52 projects that are being carried out under the initiative are worth some 21 billion USD. The Ambassador concluded that Kazakhstan and China are both on the path of modernization and rejuvenation, and committed to the same goal of improving people’s well-being.
On November 3, on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Research Center of East China Normal University was officially established. (China News Service) Gu Hongliang, Vice President of East China Normal University, noted that the establishment of the Kazakhstan Research Center of East China Normal University came into being under the background of the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan, which is also a new starting point for the school to open a new chapter of China-Kazakhstan cooperation, and will surely become an important force to promote the development of bilateral relations. Rakhymzhan Rakhimov, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Shanghai, congratulated the establishment of the Kazakhstan Research Center and thanked East China Normal University for cultivating many excellent Kazakh students over the years. He earnestly hoped that the Kazakhstan Research Center of East China Normal University could become an important educational exchange platform between China and Kazakhstan and one of the bridges to strengthen the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan.
On November 4, and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uzbekistan, the postal departments of the two countries jointly issued a set of stamps based on joint research by Chinese and Uzbek academics specializing in the field of archaeology and the issuing ceremony of stamps and souvenir sheets of China-Uzbekistan Silk Road Archaeology was held in Northwest University, China. (GuangMing Daily) The stamps highlight important discoveries made during excavations in the foothills of Tengri Tagh mountains, such as the tomb of An Jia, a bronze griffin plaque and a golden object in the shape of a ram’s head, a golden object in the shape of a tiger excavated in China, Sphinx jewelry made of faience and wall paintings of the ancient city of Afrasiab found in Uzbekistan.
