On April 20th 2018, Dr. Elena Sadovskaya gave a public lecture on Chinese labor and business migration in Kazakhstan. Dr. Sadovskaya is a sociologist, an expert of the Research Council on CIS and Baltic States Migration Studies, Center for Migration Studies, IEF, Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia); President of Center for Conflict Management (Almaty, Kazakhstan).
She talked about the history of labor migration and the factors stimulating Chinese migration in Kazakhstan today. In her presentation, Dr. Sadovskaya also explained the reasons of different perspectives of Kazakhstani population on Chinese migrants, and how it has changed over time.
