The Department of International Relations & Regional Studies at the College of Social Sciences, KIMEP University, invites applications for a faculty position (Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor rank) in the International Relations area.
Responsibilities include teaching, research, scholarly activities, advising, field liaison and service. For this position, preference will be given to candidates who show an interest in serving as Academic Director of China and Central Asia Studies Center and whose profile fits that role.
The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs and teaches academic and theoretical courses in International Relations. It seeks to hire a productive and cooperative colleague who will bring new perspectives to theory, research and practice in the field of International Relations and Politics.
China and Central Asia Studies Center, founded in 2017, employs one staff coordinator and organizes public lectures and online lectures, liaises with partner universities, hosts visiting researchers and, generally, facilitates research in China-Central Asia relations. The director of the center is entitled to a reduced teaching load.

Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant PhD Degree
- Ability to teach in English
- Expertise in at least 2 of these IR areas: Chinese Domestic and Geo-Politics, Chinese Economic Policy, The Economy and Geo-Politics of East Asia, Central Asia, Political Economy and Security Studies.
- 3-5 years of teaching experience
