On December 18, CCASC in partnership with Bilig Brains hosted a roundtable discussion: “China’s Belt and Road Initiative in Central Asia: Comprehensive Regionalism in the Making?” We had two presenters – Kairat Moldashev and Ikboljon Qoraboyev.

Intro

On December 18, CCASC in partnership with Bilig Brains hosted a roundtable discussion: “China’s Belt and Road Initiative in Central Asia: Comprehensive Regionalism in the Making?” We had two presenters – Kairat Moldashev and Ikboljon Qoraboyev.  

Kairat Moldashev is a Professor –Researcher at Narxoz University. His research interests include political economy of regionalisms in Central Eurasia and ASEAN and research environment in developing countries.

Ikboljon Qoraboyev is a senior researcher at the Higher School of Economics and Qazaq Institute for Development Studies of KAZGUU University in Astana. His research interests cover international law, international institutions and comparative regionalism with focus on Central Asia and Eurasia.

We also had two discussants: Rustam Burnashev from Kazakh-German University and Nargis Kassenova from KIMEP University, who shared their opinions and comments on the presented topic.
